FAQ
Does the treatment hurt?
Everyone feels pain differently, so the experience can vary. If youâre worried, we can talk about pain relief during your consultation.
- Eyebrows: Most people donât find it painful, though it can feel a bit more sensitive near the nose. Some clients say it tickles, vibrates, or feels like plucking hairs.
- Lips: Many expect this to hurt more than it actually does. The area near the nose may be slightly more uncomfortable.
- Eyeliner: This tends to worry clients the most. But itâs more about the fear of being close to the eyes than actual pain. You may feel a scratchy sensation between the lashes, and your eyes may water, especially in the inner corners.
Overall, most clients find the treatment manageable, and I always make sure youâre as comfortable as possible.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Itâs hard to say exactly how long permanent makeup will last because it depends on many factors. It depends on how deep the pigment is placed and what your skin is like. Thicker or oilier skin, or very shallow pigment, may fade faster.
Your lifestyle matters too. A fast metabolism, regular workouts, intense skincare, and sun exposure can all make the pigment fade quicker.
In general, you can expect it to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. But itâs not possible to say exactly when or if it will completely disappear.
Will the color change over time?
I use high-quality pigments that are certified under EU REACH standards and designed to stay stable, but even with high-quality pigments, things like your skin type, your lifestyle, how your body heals, sun exposure, and pigment composition can all affect how the color fades.
For example, pigments with iron oxide might turn slightly reddish or pink over time. Carbon-based pigments can look more grey later, and titanium dioxide might leave a whitish tone. Almost all pigments have some of these ingredients, so the way the color changes depends on how much of each is used and how the pigment is applied.
To reduce the chance of visible changes, I apply the pigment evenly and not too deep. And if you ever want to check, Iâm happy to show you the certificate for the pigments I use.
Am I a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Most people can safely get semi-permanent makeup, but there are a few exceptions.
- If youâre pregnant or breastfeeding, itâs better to wait.
- If youâre taking blood thinners, they can make healing harder and increase bleeding.
- If youâre on antibiotics or cortisone, please wait until youâre done with them.
- If youâve had hyaluronic acid injections in the last 6 weeks, itâs best to let your skin heal first.
- If you have infectious diseases like HIV or hepatitis, extra precautions are needed.
- You must be at least 18 years old. Even with parental permission, I donât do PMU treatment for minors.
If youâre unsure or have a medical condition, feel free to reach out and ask. Iâm happy to help you figure out if itâs right for you.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Even with careful work, clean tools, and safe products, some side effects are possible. These can include:
- Dizziness or chills
- Light bleeding or bruising
- Swelling or redness
- Minor scabbing or scarring
- Color fading or changes, depending on your skin
Thereâs also a small chance of allergic reactions or infection. And since everyoneâs skin heals differently, the color may fade unevenly or need a touch-up.
In the first few days, the pigment might look darker because of scabbing. The final color shows only after healing is complete. Sun, self-tanners, or certain products can also affect the result. Following the aftercare instructions is very important.
What should I do before the appointment?
To get the best results, there are a few things to keep in mind before your appointment:
- Health check: If you have any health issues or take medication, ask your doctor if itâs okay to proceed.
- Skin prep: Avoid strong treatments, peels, or direct sun on the area in the week before.
- Makeup: Come without makeup to the area weâll be treating.
- No alcohol or caffeine: Please donât have alcohol, caffeine, or painkillers 24 hours before your treatment. They can make you more sensitive and affect healing.
- Plan ahead: Donât book the appointment right before a holiday, another cosmetic treatment, or when youâre sick.
Preparing well helps your skin heal better and improves the final result. You can find more details in the pre-care instructions.
What happens during the treatment?
Before we begin, weâll have a detailed consultation. Iâll take âbeforeâ photos (only shared with your permission), and weâll decide together on the shape and color.
Once youâre completely happy with the plan, weâll start the procedure. Afterward, Iâll take âafterâ pictures and give you a cream along with all the aftercare tips you need.
The full appointment usually takes between 1.5 to 3 hours, including consultation.
How is powder shading different from microblading?
Powder shading uses a machine to gently layer pigment into the skin, creating a soft, filled-in effect that looks like powdered makeup. Microblading, on the other hand, uses a manual tool to draw fine hair-like strokes. While microblading mimics individual hairs, powder shading focuses on giving brows a smooth, blended appearance. Itâs also more suitable for oily, sensitive, or mature skin types, where microblading often fades too quickly or heals unevenly.
Is a touch-up really necessary?
Yes, touch-ups are an important part of the process. After your skin has healed (around 6â8 weeks), weâll do a second session to perfect the shape, add more depth, or adjust the color if needed. Everyoneâs skin heals a bit differently, so a touch-up ensures the best possible result.
What if I donât like the result?
Before starting any permanent makeup treatment, we always begin with a detailed consultation where we talk through your preferences, choose the right color, and map out the shape together. I donât start the procedure until youâve had a chance to see and approve the pre-draw.
I also work in layers, starting soft and building gradually, so we have room to adjust and fine-tune during the touch-up session. My goal is to make sure you feel completely comfortable with each step and that the final result looks natural, balanced, and exactly how you imagined.
How many sessions of PMU removal will I need?
That depends on a few factors: how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, how long ago it was done, and what your goal is. Some people see visible improvement after just one session, while others may need three to six sessions for more complete removal. If youâre only looking to lighten the pigment before a correction (like switching brow style or shape), fewer sessions are usually needed. Iâll assess your skin and give you a realistic plan during the consultation.
Can you remove any type of pigment or color?
Yes, this method works on most pigment colors, including the difficult ones like red, blue, green, grey, or faded black. Unlike laser, which sometimes struggles with certain tones or causes color shifts, this removal process lifts all pigments safely and naturally, without the risk of them turning darker.
Is the PMU removal treatment painful?
Most clients describe the feeling as similar to getting PMU done. Thereâs a slight scratching sensation, but a numbing product is used before and during the treatment to keep you comfortable. The procedure is gentle and carefully performed, especially on delicate areas like brows or lips.
Can I get new PMU over the removed area?
Yes, absolutely, but only after the skin is fully healed and ready. If your goal is to lighten old pigment before a correction or restyling, weâll wait at least 6 to 8 weeks after your final removal session before applying new PMU. This allows the skin to regenerate fully and gives the new pigment the best chance of holding evenly and naturally.
Is this method safer than laser?
In many cases, yes. Laser removal can be very effective, but itâs not ideal for everyone, especially in sensitive areas like around the eyes or lips. Laser also has limitations with certain pigment colors and may cause fading to odd tones or even scarring in rare cases. The method I use is non-laser, non-thermal, and very skin-friendly, allowing for precise work with minimal risk. Itâs especially good for clients who are nervous about laser or are not suitable candidates for it.
Can this work on microblading too?
Yes. In fact, itâs often used to correct or remove old microblading strokes that have turned grey or blurry over time. Because this method lifts pigment from the skin surface gently, itâs ideal for faded strokes that are no longer crisp or symmetrical.
What if I had my previous PMU done by someone else?
No problem at all. I regularly work on clients who had PMU or microblading done elsewhere and arenât happy with the result. Youâre welcome to send me a photo beforehand or book a consultation where we can go over your options in person. Whether you want full removal or just a soft correction, Iâll help guide you through the process step by step.
How is DermaClear different from a regular facial?
DermaClear is a more advanced treatment that uses a 3-in-1 system: exfoliation, deep cleansing, and hydration. It uses a special rotating silicone tip and suction technology to clean pores and deliver nourishing serums deeply into the skin. The results are usually more noticeable than with a classic facial.
Is DermaClear suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, the treatment is designed to be gentle. The soft silicone tip and carefully selected serums make it a good option for many skin types, including sensitive skin. If you have specific concerns, weâll talk about them before the session.
Can I wear makeup after DermaClear?
Itâs best to avoid makeup for the rest of the day after your treatment to let your skin fully absorb the benefits. By the next day, you can return to your normal routine.
How often should I get DermaClear?
You can do it every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your skin goals. It can be a one-time glow-up before an event or a regular part of your skincare routine.
Can DermaClear be used on the body?
Yes, DermaClear isnât just for the face. It can be used on the body, especially on areas like the back, shoulders, or chest, to target acne, clogged pores, or dull skin. Itâs a great option for clearer, smoother skin in those hard-to-reach places.
How often should I get a classic facial?
Every 4 to 6 weeks is ideal, but even once in a while can make a difference. If your skin needs more support, like during season changes, we can adjust the schedule.
Can I get a classic facial if I have acne or breakouts?
Yes, but weâll take a closer look at your skin before starting. If you have active breakouts, weâll use calming and purifying products and adjust the steps to be gentle.
Is there any downtime after a classic facial?
Usually no. Your skin might look slightly pink for an hour or two, especially after extractions, but it quickly settles. Most people leave glowing and refreshed.
Does microneedling hurt?
The sensation is usually described as a light scratching or prickling. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to make it more comfortable. Most clients say itâs manageable.
How long does it take to see results of microneelding treatment?
Youâll start noticing smoother texture and improved glow within a week, but deeper results like scar fading or firming take a few weeks to appear. Full results usually develop after multiple sessions.
Can I do microneedling if I have acne or rosacea?
It depends. Microneedling works great for acne scars, but if you have active acne or very sensitive skin like rosacea, we may suggest a different treatment. Weâll always discuss this during your consultation.
Is the ultrasound facial treatment safe for all skin types?
Yes, itâs safe and gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin. The ultrasound waves work beneath the surface without irritating or damaging the skin, making it ideal even if youâve had reactions to other treatments.
When will I see results from the Ultrasound Facial?
You may notice a fresh glow and tighter skin right after the session. Full benefits, such as improved hydration and smoother texture, continue to develop in the following days.
Can I wear makeup after the Ultrasound Facial?
Yes, makeup can be applied right after the Ultrasound Facial, though many clients prefer to go without it since the skin looks naturally radiant.
How often should I book an Ultrasound Facial?
For lasting benefits, the Ultrasound Facial can be done every 2 to 4 weeks. Weâll discuss the best frequency based on your skin goals and current condition during your visit.
How SQT Bio Microneedling is different from regular microneedling?
SQT Bio Microneedling uses natural micro-crystals from freshwater sponges instead of metal needles. These micro-needles are massaged into the skin to boost circulation, encourage cell renewal, and help your skin absorb active ingredients. The skin doesnât get damaged like with traditional microneedling, so healing is faster and gentler.
How many SQT Bio Microneedling sessions do I need?
Most clients see visible results even after the first session. For longer-lasting effects or for more serious concerns like acne or pigmentation, a series of treatments is recommended. Weâll talk about the best plan for you during your consultation.
Can SQT Bio Microneedling be used on all skin types?
Yes, itâs safe and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Because the treatment doesnât damage the skin or cause bleeding, itâs a good option even for those who canât tolerate traditional microneedling.
Does SQT Bio Microneedling hurt?
The treatment is not painful. Some people describe it as a tingling or prickly feeling while the crystals are worked into the skin, but itâs generally well tolerated, and no numbing is needed.
Is microdermabrasion painful?
No, most clients say it feels like a light scratching or suction. Itâs not painful and doesnât require any numbing. Some skin may feel a little sensitive or tight afterward, but this usually fades within a few hours.
How soon will I see results after microdermabrasion?
You will likely notice a soft, healthy glow right after your first session. Your skin will feel smoother, and makeup will go on more evenly. For longer-term improvements like reducing fine lines or acne marks, a few sessions are recommended.
Can I get microdermabrasion if I have sensitive skin?
Yes, microdermabrasion is gentle and can be adjusted to suit different skin types, including sensitive skin. During your consultation, Iâll check your skin and make sure the treatment is right for you.
How often should I get a microdermabrasion treatment?
Many clients come every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain smooth and glowing skin. If you're targeting specific issues like scarring or dark spots, we can plan a schedule based on your skin needs.
Is there anything I should avoid after the treatment?
After microdermabrasion, your skin will be more sensitive than usual. I recommend avoiding sun exposure, hot water, strong skincare products, and exfoliating treatments for the first 24 to 48 hours. Always wear sunscreen to protect your skin.
Are any of your skincare treatments suitable for teenagers?
Yes, there are several treatments that can be great for teenage skin, especially if there are concerns like breakouts, oily skin, or clogged pores. Every skin is different, so I always recommend a short consultation to see what would work best. Iâll be happy to help you choose the right treatment for your skin type and needs.
